Human Digitization for Advanced Figurative Sculpture Course

Melanie Pennington wanted to show a comparison of using traditional figurative sculpting techniques vs using emerging technologies (like 3D scanning and printing) to create figurative sculptures. For this, the AVL created a hands on workshop that went over how to use photogrammetry techniques to digitize humans and assisted the students in digitizing themselves and their colleagues. Afterwards, each student was given a digital 3D model of themselves to eventual 3D print.
