Coloring with Nanoparticles
Description
The AVL partnered with Chemistry professor Sara Skrabalak to create an interactive exhibit highlighting the importance of chemistry to the art of stained glass. Undergraduate student Joseph Burkhart simulated the glass colors produced by metal particles with different properties and AVL intern Eddie Wu developed the interactive application. The exhibit was displayed in the WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology in 2019. The exhibit was updated as an online experience for the remote-only ScienceFest event in the fall of 2020.
