Description

Rehearsing music for performance as a group is a logistical challenge. Utilizing immersive 360 video capture with spatialized ambisonic sound to capture a performance group minus your part affords to ability for personalized rehearsal via a VR playback. This is exactly the utility being investigated by Michael Stucker in the Jacobs School of Music. In this linked clip you can view a 360 ambisonic recording of a guitar ensemble. Maggie Ricci from UITS eDS managed a relationship with Google to leverage their Google JUMP 360 camera system for ultra-high resolution stereoscopic capture of this performance.
